Lengthy Narrative Prompting

Some experiments using significantly longer and more detailed prompting using MidJourney v5. There’s no character count for MidJourney’s prompts, and there have even been instances of users entering entire novels into the bot. These examples also include specific photographic terms (such as f-stop advice), with some effective outcomes. There’s an accuracy and realism to these which proves highly compelling.

/imagine: A striking portrait of a 1970's English soccer player, capturing the rugged and raw energy of the era. Shot with a vintage Canon AE-1 film camera, using a 50mm lens to give the image a timeless quality. The aperture is set to f/2.8, providing a shallow depth of field that perfectly isolates the player's face from the background. The ISO is set to 400, balancing the need for a fast enough shutter speed with the natural grain of the film. The player's intense gaze is captured with stunning clarity, his sweat-drenched hair adding to the sense of gritty determination. The image is emphasizing the contrast between light and shadow, and the overall effect is one of gritty, hard-earned authenticity. The composition is carefully arranged, and the focus squarely on his face, which fills the frame. In the background, there are subtle hints of the soccer field, such as the outline of the goalpost and the blur of the grass, but these elements are blurred out of focus, adding to the dreamlike quality of the image. The final image is a powerful and evocative portrait of a soccer player at the height of his game, captured with an artful eye and a deep understanding of the era. --v 5 --s 500
